Contract Senior Java Developer :London, UK To £450 per day

My client requires an enthusiastic and motivated Core Java Developer to develop webstart based applications for their retail and institutional portals. Working as part of the Equity eCommerce development team the successful candidate will be given the opportunity to mentor team members with the possibility of a team lead role developing in the near future. The team has successfully developed applications across the business and has a reputation for being responsive to client needs and able to deliver. You will be working as part of a small team responsible for interacting with the business in London and building technical solutions to meet the short time to market demands. Given the level of autonomy and responsibly afforded the ability to demonstrate initiative and leadership abilities make rapid career progression a very real possibility. The successful Core Java Developer will work closely with fellow team members and be encouraged to articulate best practices in a range of technologies. You will be working on the development of Java webstart based applications. Technical Requirements : Core Java (Java 1.5 or 1.6), Spring, XML / Soap web services, JBOSS (4 or better Application Web Server), Eclipse IDE, Oracle (Relational DB/SQL), Basic Linux knowledge; in particular: Vi, Tail, SSH, ls, mv, cp, man.
