My client is a global manufacturer and developer of high efficiency photovoltaic (PV) cells using crystalline silicon. They are currently looking for a solar PV research and development engineer to work out of their office in Atlanta. They are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to be involved in the development and advancement of their technology.
Responsibilities:
· Use progressive manufacturing photovoltaic processes to advance the efficiency of products
· Apply scientific knowledge to innovate and apply advanced concepts such as surface passivation by heterojunctions
· Draw reliable conclusions from project data.
· Work as part of an internal team and at times collaborate with external solar organisations.
· Design and optimise solar cell structures using PC1D
· Deal directly with hydrofluoric acid and phosphorus oxychloride
· Would be reporting to the Vice President of research and development (r&d) regularly
· Execute standard fabrication processes such as wafer cleaning and texturing
Requirements:
· A successful candidate will be educated to MSc or PhD level in materials science, chemical engineering or physics.
· Must have extensive knowledge in handling hazardous gasses such as ammonia and silane
· Have extensive experience using software such as PC1D
· Will have an understanding of the physics of operation of photovoltaic silicon solar cells and a working knowledge of the technology used to produce them
· Be willing to work out of Atlanta
· Be relied upon to work as part of a team and take the lead when necessary
