Product Controller for FO Risk Management Role, Top Tier Investment Bank, London, Exotic Derivatives, £70,000 - £90,000 base + benefits + discretionary bonus
This top tier investment bank is looking to hire an experienced product controller for a front office risk management role working across their exotic derivative trading platform. The role will require the successful candidate to verify models for valuation and risk (VaR), conducting scenario analysis, assessing and delivering market data, reviewing marks for non-observable parameters (correlation, convexity, etc) and assessing reserve requirements. Responsible for assessing valuations & price-testing, particularly on exotic trades, and determining appropriate reserves etc. You will be very comfortable in a front office role working with traders and sales staff on a daily basis.

The reason for the bank hiring an individual from a product control role is to ensure that they are acquiring the best skill set available in their front office, and for this bank in particular Product Controllers can often bring a different perspective to product risk management, governance, P&L control, pricing and regulation around RM.

The successful candidate will be from the following background:

- A number of years experience in a Product Control role PQE (ACA, ACCA, CPA or another professional accounting qualification)

- Experience of exotic derivatives spanning interest rates, structured notes, credit, FX or potentially Equity Derivatives

- Significant experience of analysis and commentary of daily P&L, P&L Attribution, BS reconciliation, Month End Closure of GL, Accounting Policy

- Motivations to move into a risk management role working in the front office

- A Team player with proven ability of delivering exceptional results as both a team and individual

- A strong academic background to Degree or Masters level preferably in a Science or quantitative course
